Web Usability

Do you know what the term "web usability" means? Some site designers have found usability is one of the most important factors to consider when planning your site. It's so important that the return of your vistiors is to your site is influenced by usability.

Many times "web usability" is overlooked even with it has power over your web site. Web site naviagation will either keep visitors on your site or drive them away. Since all sites on the web are only a click away, usability is important.

So what is your competition doing? It's very easy to move on to another site that is more "user frendly."

A badly constructed web page will only encourage your visitors to move on. Computers have been around for years, yet many still have trouble navigation the Internet. So keep your visitors in mind when designing the site.

You're not building a traditional brick and mortar type store, but your customers must be comfortable when navigating your site. Your vistior's eyes must be drawn to the items you have for sale. They must be willing to spent time reading and thinking about your products.

So locate your product on the page where your customers would expect to find them. Good "web usability" will not overwhelm your customers with a web page that is packed with a large amount of choices. Your visitor needs to feel comfortable and not pressured to buy but encouraged to buy.

As you plan and design your site, put yourself in your visitor's place. Would you enjoy spending more than 30 seconds on your site?

Web usability should guide your site construction to keep your customers returning.
